Frequently Asked Questions
Most Common Questions asked:
What are your hours of operation?
Monday-Saturday 7 am-6 pm
Sunday 3 pm-6 pm
Are there any special drop-off or pick-up times for boarding?
We like to have our guests dropped off no later than 5 pm. This allows us time to get them settled before they are tucked in for the night.
You are welcome to pick up your pet anytime during our normal operating hours: Monday - Saturday 7 am-6 pm, and Sunday 3 pm-6 pm. Any guest(s) that stay in our care past noon on the day of their departure will be charged half a day of daycare (except Sunday).
How often does my dog get to go outside?
Here at Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery, we treat dogs as individuals; and they are free to dictate their daily preferences while in our care.
If your dog enjoys being outdoors, we do not limit their playtime outside. However, if they prefer the comfort of their own suite, they are free to stay indoors. All dogs are given frequent potty breaks throughout the day.
What vaccinations do you require for my pet?
PUPPIES AND KITTENS: Must be fully vaccinated and boosters complete before boarding.
Dogs: Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella
Cats: Rabies, FVRCP/Feline Leukemia
All guests must be on a current Flea and Tick preventative!
Currently, we are not requiring dogs to be vaccinated with the canine influenza vaccine. We do, however, encourage you to talk to your veterinarian about canine influenza and if it is appropriate for your dog.
How do I make a boarding reservation?
We’d love to have your pet come to stay! For the kennel or cattery, please visit our page here for more information.
Does Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery have any boarding restrictions?
In order to ensure the safety of our guests, we do not accept unvaccinated pets, unfixed females 6 months of age and older, pets that have been coughing within the last week, or pets with any contagious diseases.
To ensure the safety of our staff, we cannot accept pets who are people-aggressive.
Unfortunately, due to insurance restrictions, we are unable to accept pit bulls.
Can I bring items from home?
Glad you asked! It’s completely optional, of course, but we know that familiar items from home can make your pet feel more at ease in a new place. We are happy to accept a pet’s favorite items from home.
Can my pets stay together?
Yes, same family pets may stay together. There is a discounted rate of 20% for all additional family members.
What is the minimum age for boarding and daycare?
Puppies and kittens must be old enough to have received all rounds of vaccines including all boosters.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes, we ask you to bring your pet’s food because their regular diet is familiar to them, causing less stress and less stomach upset. If you forget your food, don’t worry! We can provide your dog with our house-brand dog food for a fee of $5.00 a day.
What happens if my pet gets sick?
In the unfortunate event that your pet isn’t feeling well while you’re away, you will be contacted by our staff. Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery uses Mount Comfort Veterinary Care (479) 275-3530, or if it’s after hours we use the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Northwest Arkansas (479) 927-0007.
Can I call Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery to check on my pet while boarding?
As pet lovers ourselves, we know how hard it is for you to leave your pet behind when you travel. We appreciate your trust in us! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
My pet has special needs. Can Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery administer medication?
We are happy to administer your pet’s medication, free of charge. However, we do not give any injected medications. Please make sure to provide your own pill pockets or food that assists your pet in taking their medications. If you forget to provide those we will provide the pill pockets for a fee.
Does Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery accept pets that are not spayed or neutered?
Vaccinated pets are very welcome at Stone Chapel Kennel & Cattery, however, we require all female pets six months of age to be spayed before making a reservation with us for boarding or daycare. Non-neutered males are welcome anytime for boarding, however, to participate in daycare they must be neutered by twelve months of age.
Do you offer pet training?
Yes! Please refer to our dog training page here.
What is a non-compatible dog?
A temperament assessment is done by our staff for every new pet on their first day of doggie daycare. This assessment lets our team members know what type of play and socialization is best for your pet and ensures the safety of other guests. A dog is deemed non-compatible when it can’t share space with other dogs. This might be due to dog aggression (excessive dominance, constant mounting, etc.) or a dog behaving fearfully around other dogs. Sometimes, dogs become aggressive due to advancing age or mobility issues. If your dog undergoes training or matures and you notice a change in behavior, you can always contact us for reassessment.
Female dogs who remain intact after six months of age are considered non-compatible for daycare and boarding until they are spayed. Males that are over one year old or begin to show signs of dominance, aggression or excessive mounting before a year old would be considered non-compatible for daycare.
Thank you for your understanding.
New Cancelation Policies
Our boarding facility has limited suites, and especially during high season times, our facility is frequently at 90 to 100% occupancy. Our lack of space may force us to turn some clients away for boarding when we are at capacity. When clients pick up their dogs early, cancel reservations, or change reservations without appropriate notice (a minimum of twenty-four hours), it is frequently too late for us to fill that suite because the clients that we turned away have already made other arrangements. This causes us to lose a tremendous amount of income because that suite is then left empty. As a result of lost revenue due to no-shows, untimely cancelations, schedule changes, and early pickups, we have implemented the following cancelation polices which can be found here:
-
We require at the latest a 24-hour notice for cancellations and/or reservation schedule changes. When we are unable to re-book the space that is reserved for your pet due to lack of notice we will charge a $50.00 cancellation fee for each suite reserved or if the reservation is over 3 days there will be a charge of 50% of the stay. Clients that fail to provide us with at least a 24-hour notice for early pick-ups will be charged for the entire scheduled reservation check-out day.
-
If the client fails to follow through with the reservation made over a holiday (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) with at least 72 HOURS’ NOTICE, the client will be charged for the ENTIRE STAY RESERVED. Sorry, no exceptions.
-
Clients who reserve a suite over a holiday (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) that do not provide us with a 48-hour notice for early pick-ups will be charged for the entire scheduled stay. Also, clients who have to change their reservation times without providing us with a 48-hour notice will be charged for the whole of the reservation time for any days that the suite remains vacant. Sorry, no exceptions

We require at the latest a 24-hour notice for grooming cancellations. Clients who fail to cancel within the 24-hour time frame will be charged $50 per pet. Clients who arrive 15 minutes late will be charged a $15.00 late fee.
